A Five Step System
For Motivating and Guiding Clergy and Their Congregations to Include Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness in Services During National Donor Sabbath and Throughout the Year. Intended for Religious and Other Faith-Based Organizations.

Broad Participation Will Also Create a Basis for Understanding and Commitment That Will Help Build a Grass Roots Interfaith Constituency to Support Ongoing Legislation and Adoption of Model Programs.

The Successful Test
The TRANSPLANT FOR LIFE system was successfully tested during National Donor Sabbath in 1997 on Nov 13-15, and again on Nov. 12-14, 1998, through a pilot program involving all four branches of the Jewish religious community of Southern California. Our five (5) step-by-step Guide has been designed to reflect the ecumenical goals of our organization. We encourage religious organizations to make use of this simple, adaptable system. Our project was designed to assure maximum participation from a regional religious group. Your approach may vary according to the scope of your project and the resources available to you.

We at TRANSPLANT FOR LIFE are eager to supply you with advice and support each step of the way. Within each step is a link to a web page containing sample "Action Forms" that we created and used as a way of being more effective and efficient. You are encouraged to download and "tailor" these forms in whatever way seems useful. However, we do encourage you to contact us with any questions you might have about these changes, and to let us know what worked for you and why.
